ViaVan – a joint venture of Mercedes Benz Vans and Via – entered the German market guns blazing. The concept: Launching ridesharing services together with public transport operators and integrating the offer into regular public transit thus benefiting the city’s urban mobility concept rather than just throwing more cars to share onto the streets. And what a start it was, joining forces with BVG to start the BerlKönig.

Openers supported the launch and the months to come with a wide array of comms measures: classic PR and media relations, influencer marketing, speaking opportunities, and event organization. All in support of ViaVan’s key message: ViaVan offers not any ridesharing services but is closely aligned with public transit, has actually successful and high sharing rates and is more than just the way home after a night out – but a sustainable, flexible, and modern addition to urban mobility. A messaging that was picked up by and discussed in various Berlin media outlets, WirtschaftsWoche, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung or DPA; on stage of TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin, Tagesspiegel’s Future Mobility Summit, or Germany’s largest automotive fair IAA; and was pushed into the consumer-market to big success via influencer marketing in Berlin
