Chess Boxing Global – the 1% blood & sweat equity campaign
We set up and supported the 1% blood & sweat equity campaign and raised public awareness for the global sports Chess Boxing
In 2003 Chessboxing was brought to life by dutch founder and artist Iepe Rubingh (†2020) and transformed into a global sport within a few years after the first fight was watched by over one thousand fascinated spectators. The combination of chess and boxing, two contrasting disciplines within one fight (in alternating rounds of 3 minutes), holds fascination for numerous fans. To take the sport to the next level, Rubingh raised money through the 1% blood sweat equity campaign: If you want to invest, you fight the founder for 1% of the company, if you lose, you have to pay for it, if you win, you get it for free.
We supported the campaign PR- and communication-wise including guerilla stunts, classic press relations, community outreaches, TV interviews as well as with event production.
